Famous witer : Lin Yutang

Lin Yutang was a famous chinese writer who wrote lots of Chinese and English literatures. He is my favourite writer.
Lin Yutang was born in 1895 in Fu Jian, China. His father was a Christian minister, so when he was a boy he learned English and Chinese which was uncommon in China.
He studied for his bachelor's degree at Saint John's University in Shanghai, then he had a doctoral degree at Harvard University, in the same year, He left Harvard and went to Germany, where he completed his requirements for a doctoral degree at the University of Leipzig.
When he was 24 years old, he married with CuFeng who had a rich family. Lin Yutang was really poor but she still wanted to marry him. At the wedding, Lin Yutang burnt the marriage certificate, because he wanted to live with his wife forever. Then, they left China and went to the USA.
Sixteen years later, he wrote English literature called 'My country and My people'.
He had about 50 literatures including classical Chinese culture and American culture, he used two different languages to write. One of my favorite is 'The important of living'. I'm really into his literature.

  1. Well done Bella!

This is a really interesting choice for this week’s blog. You have created a nice biography of an important person which is easy to read and well organised.

    Some notes on English.

“who wrote lots of Chinese and English literatures”

Literature is an uncountable noun so we cannot use the plural.
A better choice here would be ‘book’ or ‘plays’ etc.

You could also say ‘different types of literature’

“One of my favorite is 'The important of living'”

You use ‘favourite’ here as a noun. This is countable in English.

For example ‘I don’t have a favourite (book)’

Or ‘I have lots of favourites’ i.e. ‘I have lots of favourite movies’

    So you should write here

‘One of my favorites is 'The important of living'

Also ‘important’ is an adjective. You should use the noun.

    ‘The importance of living’
